C H Murphy || Clark-Ullman recently received an order to build a large shell and tube heat exchanger with 2-inch diameter tubes. The large tube size is necessary due to the debris that is in the media flowing through the tube. The size reduces the frequency of plugging and minimizes fouling. The heat exchanger tube bundle is also a straight tube design with davits on each end to allow the channel covers to be quickly swung away without the need for a crane or other external lifting device and allows the customer to rod-clean the tubes easily. We have fabricated heat exchangers with tube diameters as small as 3/8-inch to as big as 3 1/2-inch.
C H Murphy||Clark-Ullman provides quality service to help customers develop both the thermal and mechanical designs required to meet their product needs. Once the design is finalized, C H Murphy||Clark-Ullman fabricates the heat exchanger to meet/exceed the customer’s expectations with a quality product that adheres to the industry’s highest standards.
